Allegra Hosford Scheirer

Physical Science Research Scientist
Allegra is the Managing Director of the Stanford Geologic Hydrogen Industrial Affiliates Program. Allegra spent ~6 years at the U. S. Geological Survey following her Ph.D. from the MIT-WHOI Joint Program in Oceanography. Her research at the USGS focused on building computerized three-dimensional models of sedimentary basins, assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources in California, and potential field analysis. Allegra then spent 16 years as a co-director and manager of the Basin Processes and Subsurface Modeling Industrial Affiliates Program at Stanford. She served as a member of the AAPG Research Committee and as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Geophysical Research-Solid Earth. She is the editor of USGS Professional Paper 1713. At Stanford, Allegra advises graduate students, teaches courses, engages with industrial affiliates, and does research.
