Euclid Joy Soringa, EPS Undergraduate Senior
Euclid Soringa, Undergraduate Senior in the EPS department, was awarded a 2025 GSA J. David Lowell Field Camp Scholarship. Euclid will receive funding for their field camp in the French Alps this summer, as well as a custom engraved purple Brunton. Congratulations! Since its inception, GSA has dedicated itself to enriching the geosciences by cultivating and supporting aspiring scientists. One of the most important ways GSA does this is through fieldwork opportunities, which the Foundation proudly supports through its J. David Lowell Field Camp Scholarship fund. This umbrella under which field camp scholarship programs reside was established through the generosity of Dr. David Lowell, renowned field-based mineral exploration geologist. For many students, the financial cost of pursuing fieldwork can be a burden. This fund allows GSA to provide financial support for aspiring geoscientists, so they can hone their field skills and discover their interests without financial strain.
