The Hubert Schenck Memorial Scholarship Outstanding Graduate Student Award is given to a graduate student who shows exceptional distinction in teaching, research, and scholarship.
Hubert Gregory Schenck (1897–1960) was one of Stanford University's most influential geologists, paleontologists, and educators. Joining Stanford as an instructor in 1924, he became a renowned expert on molluscan fossils and was a pioneer in introducing microfossil studies to California geology.
