Coterminal MS Program
The coterminal Master’s program offers a unique opportunity for students to gain graduate-level research experience and earn an MS degree alongside or after completing their BS. This degree serves as a professional entry point in fields like engineering geology and environmental geology within the earth sciences, and it can also be an excellent foundation for those considering a PhD. Coterm BS/MS students are integrated into the EPS graduate community and held to the same standards as regular MS students. Please note: This is a self-funded program.
Who is eligible?
Students may apply to the coterm program once they have completed at least 120 units toward graduation, including AP and transfer credits, as indicated on their undergraduate transcript. The coterm program is only open to current Stanford students. For more details, please refer to the Procedures for Coterminal Students.
